BASIC & SECONDARY EDUCATION
Donations to this campaign provides tuition scholarships for needy students, so they can have transformative education as well. These scholarships encourage social responsibility among private schools, allowing them to bear the burden of helping those around them more effectively. Learning and educational materials are also purchased with these funds, to support classroom teaching with hands-on projects and lesson demonstrations rather than lectures.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP
West Africa has a marvelous number of innovative and creative people who need an outlet to let their innovations shine. So many people find interesting ways to use their talents to solve problems in their communities with only the raw materials around them. The Entrepreneurship Campaign is aimed at providing ways to bring the problem-solving ideas of these people to life. Your contribution provides the means to scale up these indigenous solutions to make them into a small business, or a grow a business, leading to self-reliance.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
In West Africa, simple daily problems can quickly spin out of control.
Power outage is bad and much worse when it affects a hospital
full of sick people. A rainstorm washing out the road is bad and worse when your child is sick and medical care is far away.
Being prepared for small, daily emergencies through power backup
systems, home medical training and supplies, and stores of food and
water can save the lives of children and adults throughout West
Africa.

Our Approach
Over the past few decades, projects in Africa come and go. Good people see a need and want to help. But the way that help is given can make the difference between a strong resilient community, able to provide for themselves in the future, and a community still dependent on hand-outs and charity projects.
At Golden Sunbeam Foundation, our plan to providing help is a “bottom-up” approach where we contribute donations to individuals and communities already pursuing paths towards self-reliance. In other words, our method is to support those who have shown evidence that they are already working their way out of poverty. This makes all the difference: This is the difference between investing in a driven hard-working person and handing out goodies to people who are happy to accept them, but not ready to change in such a way that the donation really improves their life and surroundings.
“WA-WA”
Some may be familiar with the phrase “WA-WA,” West Africa Wins Again, meaning West Africa is often resistant to change, especially to change that comes from outside itself. At the Golden Sunbeam Foundation, our approach is to work with individuals to help them with their own solutions for improving their lives, which then enables them to build up their communities. Through this approach, your donations help individuals and communities restore self-worth, dignity, confidence, and empowers people to develop creative solutions to address their own problems in an environment and culture they know and understand so well.
Self-reliance is a pre-requisite to building resilient communities. To build resilient communities in West Africa, the Golden Sunbeam Foundation has three focus areas:
1. Education: Funds received from donors goes to support training programs and schools through merit based academic scholarships for students pursuing academic programs focused on becoming self-reliant.
2. Entrepreneurship: Donations here support individuals and communities in the development of existing indigenous technologies and businesses in growth areas such as agriculture, energy, waste management and IT solutions.
3. Emergency Preparedness: Donations to this category supports institutions and communities with resources to establish relief centers across West Africa to provide training, education and relief items to persons effected by disasters.
Through these focus areas your donations help build resilient communities, empowered to retain ownership and maintenance of their own solutions who have the resources to lift their children out of poverty through education while providing them the basic necessities of life such as health, food, water, and shelter.
We expect to work with countries in West Africa with the goal of empowering the cheetah generation to break dependence on aid and cycles of poverty starting from the grassroots.
We expect to deepen our engagement and partnership with individuals, and institutions to better understand their economic aspirations and identify priority sectors for growth.
We hope to work with you to bring about this lasting change in the lives of people and to literally bring thousands many steps closer to fulfilling their individual purposes and missions in life.
Thank You,
Golden Sunbeam Foundation

Your Contribution
We welcome your energy, time, talent(s), and resources to help us bring about lasting and sustained improvements in the lives of people. In fact, there are opportunities to serve all around us within our communities and around the world. There are children to be fed, sick to receive treatment, homeless to shelter, orphans to adopt, the destitute to relieve from suffering, wars to stop, thirsts to quench, illiteracy to eradicate, disasters to overcome and many more. Where ever you look, you will find opportunities to lift and strengthen people.
Beside this narrative, there are positive things happening to relieve human suffering. Africa is gradually turning its pages towards economic freedom, thanks to generous contribution of support from around the world. However this process of change is fragile and requires unyielding support and tenuous care.
This is why our commitment towards the well being of all people must be the strongest. The world needs your intervention and what you can give. Through the Golden Sunbeam Foundation, you have an opportunity to give to a cause dedicated to bringing about lasting and permanent improvement in the general well being of people in third world West Africa.

The Impact
Africa is the fastest-growing continent in the world. According to the International Monetary Fund, by 2030, the number of young Africans entering the labor force will increase to 375 million. This means in 2035 there will be more young Africans entering the workforce each year than in the rest of the world combined.
Your contribution no matter how small, will help us support institutions and individuals from the grassroots to overcome barriers to self reliance, curb migrations and promote continental peace.
